How Our Services Work
Assessment First
We start with an assessment by a registered SLP to understand where your child is and what they need.
Skip the Assessment?
If your child was assessed within the last 6 months, we may be able to start treatment directly. Share the written report and current goals for review.
Where We Work
Sessions take place at home, daycare, or school. School and daycare sessions require facility consent. We come to you.
Caregiver Involvement
For home visits, a caregiver must be present. This allows us to coach you on strategies to reinforce between sessions.
Insurance coverage: Most private insurance plans cover Speech-Language Pathology services. Check with your provider for “Speech-Language Pathology” or “SLP” coverage. We provide detailed receipts after every session for easy submission.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is speech therapy covered by OHIP?
Private speech therapy is not covered by OHIP. However, most extended health benefit plans (Sun Life, Manulife, Canada Life, etc.) cover Speech-Language Pathology services. We provide a detailed receipt after each session that you can submit for reimbursement.
Do I need a doctor's referral?
No — you can contact us directly without a physician's referral. However, some insurance plans require a referral for reimbursement purposes. We recommend checking your specific policy before your first appointment.
My child was recently assessed elsewhere. Do we need to start over?
Not necessarily. If your child has been formally assessed within the last 6 months, we may be able to skip the formal assessment and move directly to treatment. Please share the written report and current goals so we can review them before your first session.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept e-transfer and cash. Payment is due within 24 hours of service.
Are consultations with teachers or doctors billable?
Yes — meetings with teachers, doctors, or other professionals are billed at the standard treatment rate. Meetings under 15 minutes are free of charge.
